Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama television series created by Steven Knight. Based on the story of the Peaky Blinders gang, active at the end of the 19th century, this series follows a group of Birmingham gangsters from 1919. This gang, led by the ambitious and dangerous Thomas Shelby and made up of his siblings , practices racketeering, protection, smuggling of alcohol and tobacco and illegal betting. Praised for its cinematic appeal, the complexity of its characters and the interpretation of the actors, as well as for its use of deliberately anachronistic music, the series received a majority of positive reviews.
